ABOUT THE ROLE

Most blockchain engineers have only worked on account-based execution models. Mintlayer is different. Building smart contract logic native to the UTXO model, extending Bitcoin's security architecture into a full programmable finance layer, is work very few people in the world have done. If you are one of them, or you understand deeply enough to master it, this is where that knowledge becomes consequential.

MLS token standards, Token Factory contract templates, and atomic swap scripting are the building blocks of a tokenized financial system that is live on mainnet right now. The code you write here will be the foundation that real-world assets and institutional fund structures run on.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

• Design and implement smart contract logic native to Mintlayer's UTXO-based execution model
• Own and maintain MLS token contract standards: MLS-01 fungible token spec, MLS-03 NFT spec, and future extensions
• Build and review Token Factory contract templates for permissioned and permissionless asset issuance
• Implement and audit atomic swap scripting for Fast Bridge and DEX integrations
• Work with the Blockchain Security Lead on security review of all new contract deployments
• Contribute to smart contract documentation for external developer consumption
• Review technical feedback on third-party applications building on MLS standards

WHAT YOU BRING

• Strong understanding of Bitcoin UTXO model and scripting
• Experience with Mintlayer MLS standards or genuine motivation to master them
• Rust required — this is core protocol work
• Prior work on UTXO-based smart contract systems rather than account-model only
