ABOUT THE ROLE
Abu Dhabi is home to some of the most progressive digital asset regulation in the world. Working at the front of that regulatory environment — building the risk and compliance framework for a company that sovereign wealth funds and institutional allocators are actively evaluating — is a career-defining opportunity.
The Risk and Compliance Director is an architect role, not an administrator one. You are building the enterprise risk framework from the ground up, across protocol risk, regulatory compliance, counterparty risk, and fund-level risk management.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Design and implement Mintlayer's enterprise risk framework: risk register, risk appetite statements, and control frameworks
- Build the regulatory compliance function: ADGM and VARA compliance programs, MiCA readiness, and regulatory reporting
- Own counterparty risk assessment for institutional partnership onboarding
- Develop fund-level risk management frameworks for Interest.One
- Interface directly with ADGM and VARA as the primary regulatory relationship owner
- Produce regular risk reports for the board
- Build and manage the compliance team
WHAT YOU BRING
- 7+ years risk management or compliance in financial services or fintech
- Direct experience with crypto-asset regulatory frameworks: ADGM, VARA, MiCA, or FCA
- Understanding of digital asset custody risk and smart contract risk
- Experience building risk frameworks for regulated entities from the ground up
