Mintlayer Public Testnet Launch
July 21, 2023

Hello Mintlayers!

We are thrilled to announce that July 31, 2023, is the date for the highly awaited public launch of the Mintlayer testnet. This launch marks a significant milestone on our journey, one that we can’t wait to share with you all.

We’ve made immense strides in preparing for this day. Our team has been working tirelessly to ensure that the testnet is robust, efficient, and user-friendly. We have completed all the major testnet components, and have been running it internally since early June. The feedback and insights we have gathered during this period have been invaluable in refining the testnet.

The public testnet launch is a crucial step towards our mainnet launch. It allows us to simulate real-world conditions and onboard a larger number of validators, paving the way for our mainnet launch.

We’ve also developed a user-friendly interface for the testnet. Now those with less tech experience will have the same opportunity as developers to participate. Likewise, we’re building out a tool to distribute Testnet ML (TML) tokens to users to allow participants to fully engage with the Mintlayer protocol and its development.

Please be patient as we finalise the documentation for the testnet launch. We’ll be publishing full details on the Mintlayer website so you can be ready for launch day.

Likewise, we’ll be hosting a launch party on the 31st of July to celebrate this milestone. Save the date, and make sure to follow us on Twitter, Telegram and Discord for all the details.

Once again, a big thank you to our development team for their tireless work, and for the ongoing support of the community. Together, we’ll continue to innovate and shape the future of finance with Mintlayer.

The Mintlayer team.
