May 2023 Mintlayer Development Update
May 1, 2023

Welcome back Mintlayers!

May has been a busy month for the development team. We’ve planned and developed a staking program that will be live soon and continued work on the Mintlayer core.

As we near the public release of the testnet we are cleaning up all parts of the core and testing.

Mintlayer Core Development

This month the development team has completed a lot of work on the Mojito Wallet.

We have continued work on delegation this month.

We have fixed a lot of open issues and made progress on checklists across the entire code base this month. This includes cleanup on the chainstate, accounting, p2p and the merkletree implementation.

We have completed some more mempool and block production testing. This includes improving the way errors are handled.

Prep work for the testnet release has begun and we look forward to releasing more updates in regard to this soon.

Mobile & Web

This month we have released the entropy generation code.

The development team has completed a few small mobile updates this month.

The new staking feature has been completed, is now in testing, and is just about ready for launch. This new launch site feature will directly benefit current ML holders.

We would like to invite all of you to join us on Discord, and take part in our Telegram Community to get updates on this upcoming feature, and all other Mintlayer related news. As always, Mintlayer is open source and you can follow along with our updates on the official Mintlayer Source Code.
