July 2025 Mintlayer Development Update
July 1, 2025

August 6, 2025

Summer may be heating up, but so is development across the Mintlayer ecosystem
From core infrastructure to user-facing tools, we're making steady progress toward unlocking Bitcoin-native DeFi.

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to—and what’s coming next:

Block Explorer & API Enhancements

Work is underway to upgrade the Mintlayer Block Explorer and API in preparation for Atomic Swaps. These improvements will ensure Bitcoin and MLS-01 atomic swaps are easily viewable, trackable, and verifiable directly on-chain.

Mojito Wallet (Browser Extension)

The latest update introduced order-based swaps within the Mojito Wallet, bringing more trading functionality directly into the extension.

An upcoming release will add support for Atomic Swaps, enabling secure peer-to-peer exchanges.

Note: Completing atomic swaps will require connecting Mojito to a DEX or compatible application—wallet-only swaps won’t be supported.

Token Factory

Token Factory Infrastructure testing is nearing completion! The Mintlayer Token Factory infrastructure should be completed in mid August, this will enable other dApp to build an interface to create and mint new MLS-01 and MLS-03 tokens. Stay tuned for dApp partnership announcements.

Core Node Progress

A major update is being prepared for late August or early September that will bring select Testnet features to Mainnet.

More details to come as we finalize the feature list.

ZK Thunder

Bug fixes and active testing continue for ZK Thunder. Our Certik x Mintlayer bug bounty program remains live, inviting white hats to help us secure the network.

Mainnet launch will follow additional refinements in the coming weeks.

Wrapping Up

As always, our focus remains on stability, performance, and developer readiness across the Mintlayer stack. Each update—big or small—moves us closer to a scalable and trustless Bitcoin-powered future.
